foodKIND is a small 100% volunteer-run humanitarian organization that gives food with kindness to refugees.
foodKIND supports over 600 people in Malakasa who are awaiting official registration by providing a hot meal.  We also provide weekly nutritional packs to pregnant and nursing mothers in camp Oinofyta.
We have volunteer accommodations available in our shared house in the small town of Dilesi about one hour north of Athens. In order to make sure that all the money we raise goes towards food, we ask our volunteers to donate €10/night (max €200/month)  towards the cost of the volunteer house. The house has 4 bedrooms each with a single and a bunk bed (3 people per bedroom), 2 toilets, 2 showers, communal space, a washing machine, wifi and kitchen a large garden and a terrace with a beautiful view. Transportation is provided to and from the volunteer house to the camps.
Typical days are 8 hours,  jobs include chopping, lifting, smiling, carrying, cooking, cleaning, shopping, scrubbing and laughing. Due to the large amounts of food that we provide, there is some heavy lifting and carrying.
