We are Movement On The Ground, a foundation responding to a humanitarian crisis affecting the innocent men, women and children forced from their homes by climate change, poverty and war.
There is lots of information about the organisation on our website. When volunteering with us you need to be at least 21 or older, financially independent and available for a minimum of 2 weeks. When you join our team you are expected to sort out and pay for your own flights and accommodation. Once you have arrived on Lesvos you will become part of our team. You will be scheduled for activities and projects by our coordinator on the ground for the duration of your stay with us. We run lots of different projects, programs and activities in Moria, the Olive Grove and Kara Tepe. As a volunteer you can expect to go to all of these different places.
Regarding your activities, these are subject to change so by the time you arrive these may have changed. But to give you a general impression, we run some long term constant projects like our shop, the Digital Learning Lab and our warehouse, we also have some short term ad hoc projects, these vary from arts and crafts, to workshops and construction projects. As a volunteer you need to be flexible and open to all different types of tasks.
Finally it is worth mentioning that in line with our Camp to CampUs philosophy you will be working closely with the residents (refugees) during the projects and activities.
