We aim to be financially sustainable in the long term, and are seeking support with our fundraising activities to underpin this. With the money that our Fundraising team brings in we hope to expand our community-based professional provision to diverse populations in Athens.  We are seeking a Fundraising volunteer to join our team in Athens to create new fundraising content, share it with multiple audiences and increase our our core income.

The role

Depending on your skills and interests there are various ways you could volunteer with our fundraising team. You could:

  • Identify and approach potential sponsors
  • Work with the management team to write grant applications
  • Assist with operating our donor care programme
  • Design/write fundraising communications
  • Identify ways we can improve our fundraising
  • Other fundraising initiatives including planning and supporting local events

We are looking for a volunteer who can commit to at least three months with our organisation. The nature of fundraising is that some activities will be planned and some will arise ad hoc.  We are looking for someone who can commit a set number of hours per week to prepare planned activities, but who may also be able to be flexible for events/ specific deadlines. We are happy to discuss how this position can work around existing commitments, including working remotely.

Our expectations

We are looking for:

  • Enthusiasm for Hestia Hellas work and our values
  • Skills and experience in creating powerful fundraising content
  • Excellent written communication skills (English, Greek is a bonus)
  • Interest in storytelling and building relationships
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
  • Ability to multitask and contribute to the wider team
  • A methodological and can do approach to work
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
