Campfire Innovation was forged with a simple vision: identifying and helping  innovative refugee aid project that effectively deliver dignified conditions to displaced people. We are a support system which connects these organizations to each other helps them build their capacity.

We help the helpers that provide support to more than 5,000 refugees.

Job Description:

Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to undertake most of our work, especially helping small and smart initiatives expand and professionalise, while they continuously provide crucial services to thousands of refugees and asylum seekers in Greece.

The role of our Volunteer Coordination is key to our success keeping the organisation moving forward!

You will be working closely with the Director to shape our internal processes and recruit and coordinate a growing team. We are looking for someone who foster an open and creative team producing rigorous work.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the communication with interested and incoming volunteers
  • Organise the welcoming of new volunteers
  • Onboard volunteers to our communication platforms (create email addresses, log into Slack etc.)
  • Review the weekly availability of volunteers & manage time off
  • Organise weekly team meeting and keeping minutes

Job Requirements:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Critical and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and within a team
  • Experience with Google Drive a must
  • Experience with Slack and Asana preferred
  • Ability to quickly put together written documentation
  • Ability to react quickly to the ever-shifting needs of the refugee situation and of a startup team
  • Experience with the refugee crisis preferred but not mandatory if the volunteer is available to volunteer at the same time in another organisation in the field
  • Currently located in Athens


Part-time in Athens:

minimum of 15 to 20 hours per week (flexible schedule)
