Volunteers needed in Northern Greece
IHA is urgently looking for volunteers to join our team in Thessaloniki.
We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about our work and able to commit for at least 6 weeks (minimum of 4 weeks if solely for the Warehouse). The work will be both in our Community Centre in Lagadikia and our Warehouse in Diavata.
In our Community Centre we run a social space, workshops, our Employment and Information Centre (EIC), adult English and Greek classes, our Child Friendly Space (CFS), a Women’s Space as well as leisure and sports activities.
We are always open to new ideas, inspiration and skills, and welcome volunteers to bring their own ideas for workshops they would like to offer!
In our Warehouse volunteers help to prepare our clothing and hygiene distributions and to organise and deliver stock to our partner organisations across the region. For the Warehouse you will have to be able to commit for at least 4 weeks, preferably have a valid driver‘s licence and feel comfortable driving a van.
Some of our volunteers have dedicated roles that can require specific skills, experience and a longer stay. Taking on a specific role does not mean you will not be working in other parts of the project; we are a team and we help out where it is needed - however, it involves taking on additional responsibility for one aspect of the project.
We are especially looking for:
- Warehouse Volunteers - minimum stay 4 weeks
- a Social Media Volunteer - minimum stay 10 weeks
- from January: an Employment Information Centre (EIC) assistant - minimum stay 8 weeks
- from January: a Women's space project lead - minimum stay 10 weeks
If you have any questions about volunteering with us, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
